Patty Chang

Patty Chang is a filmmaker and performance artist based in New York. She often plays a central role in her work and explores boundaries of taste and endurance. Some of her work contains scatalogical elements (such as in her short film, “Gong Li with the Wind”), while others critique perceptions of female roles (such as in another short film, “For Paradise”). She has had solo shows at the Museum of Modern Art, New York (2014), Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia in Madrid (2000), Baltic Art Center in Visby, Sweden (2001), Hammer Museum in Los Angeles (2005), Jack Tilton Gallery in New York (1999 and 2001), Bowdoin College Museum of Art in Brunswick, Maine (2008), among others.
