Drop by Kunsthal Aarhus for a festive and experiential celebration of art.

An expedition into a dripstone cave where time and place cease to exist. Stylish motifs of cowboys set against the challenges of modern family life. And an epic showdown on the big screen. These are some of the experiences awaiting you at Kunsthal Aarhus on Thursday 15 August, where we celebrate art with the following program:

All day:

  • Pop-up exhibition with cowboy images created by Costa Rican artist Leonardo Sagastuy
  • SPEOS listening stones with cave stories - come and listen!

4:30 pm:

  • Performance lecture by artist and researcher Jakob Schweppenhäuser about the project SPEOS, a story from inside a mountain created in collaboration with poet Morten Søndergaard and musician and producer Emil Thomsen.

9 pm:

  • Open air cinema in the courtyard in front of Kunsthal Aarhus with a screening of a true classic: Once Upon a Time in the West by Sergio Leone and legendary soundtrack by Ennio Morricone.

Practical info:
Admission to the exhibition, performance and movie screening in the park around Kunsthal Aarhus is free - so bring a blanket or camping chair.
Our café has delicious snacks, cold and hot drinks, and it is possible to buy popcorn for the movie. There are toilets on both the ground and basement levels, which are free to use during the film screening.

The open air screening is organized in collaboration with Cinemateket.
