Notes for supplement existing knowledge

Five Danish and five German artists meet in the exhibition project Notes for supplement existing knowledge which was launched on 13 June at Fabrik der Künste in Hamburg. The project will soon move on to Aarhus where it can be experienced at Kunsthal Aarhus until 1 August.

  • During the summer we will open up Gallery 1 for new experimental projects where Notes for supplement existing knowledge is the first. It's an open and process-orientated project that crosses the borders of Denmark and connects Aarhus with Hamburg through art, says Peter Ole Pedersen, Chief Curator at Kunsthal Aarhus.

The exhibition shows different artistic expressions and approaches to art. In Hamburg, the artists present the artworks curated as a group show. In Aarhus the exhibition is an open concept where the artists engage in a communication process with each other. During the exhibition, the artists will be giving talks about their individual artistic investigations and the production processes.

  • With the exhibition project Notes for supplement existing knowledge we create a space for collaboration and sharing of knowledge. Presentations and lectures are at the core of this open format allowing visitors to meet the artists in the heart of their creative process, says Carsten Rabe, initiator and curator.
