The Jutland Art Academy and Kunsthal Aarhus invite you to an artist talk with visual artist, organizer and researcher Joen Vedel.
The point of departure for the artist talk is Joen Vedel's artistic practice, which revolves around the representation of small and large political events - and the possibilities of capturing them as they unfold. For this talk Vedel will outline the last 10 years of his practice, where the relationship between context and form, process and representation, research and personal experience are recurrent figures. Along the way, we will meet a written account of the riots in Athens, a video-diary from a summer in New York, a Tatar language course, a series of programs for a local television-station in Kassel, and a mourning play in honor of his departed father. As a guest at the Department of Communication and Culture at Aarhus University, Vedel will also briefly introduce his current research project entitled "Now-Time: Live-editing as a mode of research".
Participation is free, but we recommend securing a seat on Billetto
