SKAF #3: Tahir Mirza & DRC-integration

Free entry
Language: Danish

SKAF returns to Kunsthal Aarhus with two talks that aim to broaden our perspective on refugee experiences and give practical advice for hosting refugees.

Tahir Mirza describes his experience working on the island Nauru, where the Australian government has forcibly and indefinitely relocated 2000 asylum seekers. Tahir's rare view into this offshore detention camp inspired his forthcoming novel, ‘Nauru’.

Marie-Cecilie Friis Broundal presents her work with DRC Integration - a department of the Danish Refugee Council that helps refugees find their way into life in Denmark. After a short overview of the refugee situation in Aarhus, Cecilie will offer advice on how to connect with refugee communities.
