Art Book Society is a showroom for artist books, where a selection of books always will be available for browsing and reading in a mix of library, reading room, exhibition and shop. All of this will be present in an artistic exhibition scenography – a furniture installation with shelves and soft chairs, made by the Danish artist Jesper Rasmussen.

As part of Art Book Society Kunsthal Aarhus focuses on a specific art book publisher each month. The art books from “publisher of the month” will be shown on a specific exhibition wall, where a selection of titles from the publisher will be available for browsing. You will be able to read about “publisher of the month” and the selected titles on a poster column integrated in the furniture installation. At the end of the month, the publisher is invited to Kunsthal Aarhus Book Club, where visitors gets the opportunity to delve deeper into a specific book from their back catalogue.

Since 2002 *[asterisk] the loose-leaf magazine * and titles about but not limited to: black squares, hairdressers, catastrophes, the phonetic alphabet, monuments in the outskirts, 100000000000000 recipes on open faced sandwiches, marginalia in library books, corkboards, a bureaucratic encyclopedia, trans national adoption, a guide to Paris, the world without evil and a 15 cm stick.
