Join us for a sensory and thought-provoking tour of Kunsthal Aarhus’ Sculpture Park – a green art oasis in the heart of the city, where grass grows between works by both international and local artists. Here, art meets everyday life, nature blends with the urban, and dog walkers cross paths with art lovers.
The Sculpture Park surrounds the kunsthal and features prominent works by artists such as Jimmie Durham, Søren Thilo Funder, and the design duo Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec. Most notably, the park is home to the ongoing exhibition project A Flag is a Piece of Fabric, but on a daily basis it also serves as a green breathing space for local residents.
During the tour, we’ll dive into the stories behind the artworks and explore the development of the Sculpture Park itself – from the initial ideas in the 1980s to the present day. We’ll talk about the park’s architecture, its flora and fauna – and discuss the role and potential of public art in the urban space.
