Opening of Bugs & Metamorphosis

Kunsthal Aarhus invites you to the opening of Bugs & Metamorphosis – an exhibition where 14 artists explore the dual meaning of “bug”: both error and insect.
The exhibition marks the launch of a new long-term exhibition and communication project at Kunsthal Aarhus titled The Art of Failure. In Bugs & Metamorphosis, “bug” is examined as both a technical glitch and a living creature – metaphorically, technically, and as an artistic method.
Presenting photographic works created through both analogue and digital techniques – from low-tech to artificial intelligence – the exhibition invites reflection on the role of failure in a world shaped by algorithms, systems, and norms.
Rooted in decolonial, feminist, queer, and ecological practices, the artists offer new perspectives on vulnerability, ambiguity and the uncontrollable.
Bugs & Metamorphosis is organised in collaboration with the Hasselblad Foundation in Gothenburg and curated by Louise Wolthers and Nina Mangalanayagam.
