Kunstnernes Påskeudstilling (KP – The Artists’ Easter Exhibition), now in its 73th year, is one of the most vibrant juried exhibitions in Denmark. Anyone is welcome to submit works for the exhibition, giving both established artists and new talents the opportunity to present their works to a wider audience. The selection of works is handled by a specially selected jury. This year’s jury comprised five Danish artists: Sophie Dupont, Kasper Hesselbjerg, René Schmidt, Tove Storch and David Svensson.
The choices made by the jury ensures that the exhibition will present some of the cutting-edge movements and trends found within the arts today.
SPRING is a group exhibition featuring a small selection of artists who have made a strong impact at previous instalments of the Artists’ Easter Exhibitions. For SPRING19, the board of the exhibition has invited Nour Fog, Lina Hashim and Johnny Schmidt Erbs to develop and show major projects in collaboration with each other – and with artist Peter Land, who has acted as mentor during the preparatory stages.
A generous donation from the Aarhuus Stiftstidende Foundation enables KP to present two awards:
The KP Prize (DKK10,000) is awarded to an artist featured at this year’s KP. The prize is presented on the official opening day.
The jury appointing the recipient comprises: Jesper Rasmussen (artist, former rector of Det Jyske Kunstakademi), Jens Erik Sørensen (Copenhagen Contemporary, former director of ARoS) and Lisbeth Bachman (chair of the KP board).
The Audience Award (DKK10,000) is awarded to a contributor to this year’s KP or SPRING exhibition. The award is presented on 24 April.
The recipient is appointed by the audience. All visitors will have the opportunity to recommend one artist for the award.

”Igen i år er den censurerede udstilling henvist til Kunsthal Aarhus’ underetage, og igen i år er det er temmelig broget foretagende, der forsøger at klemme lidt for mange overflødige værker ind på lidt for lidt plads.”
Aarhus Stiftstidende, Christian Salling, 01.04.2019
