On Tuesday 30 November, the Book of the month once again is back when Kunsthal Aarhus and the publisher Antipyrine invite author Rasmus Theisen to read and present his debut novel Andre hunde (2021). The event will be held in Danish.
The Book of the Month is a collaboration between the publisher Antipyrine and Kunsthal Aarhus, which, on the last Tuesday each month, focuses on a book release in Kunsthal Aarhus. We invite both debutants and established authors/translators/editors who have in common that they represent relevant contemporary art and literature. The releases are about everything from art, literature, theory and activism and involve an artistic presentation, reading, conversation, performance, (film-)screenings and much more. The Book of the Month is a collaboration which, across literature and art, will strengthen the literary art scene in Aarhus.
The publisher Antipyrine
Kunsthal Aarhus already houses Antipyrine Bookstore. The publishing house has existed since 2014 and has a sharp selection of books from independent, often artist-driven publishers from all over Scandinavia. Books not found in the mainstream bookstores. Books that are works in their own right. Books from people who think about publishing as an artistic practice, an artistic idiom and an artistic strategy. These are the very same types of books and the publishing programme also reflects. All events are free and the purpose is to present a larger audience to different, relevant contemporary literature.
